It's A Beautiful Day!

You know, I was thinking. Back in my days at Michigan Christian College there was a tradition. Every spring and fall there would be one day out of the semester (one that looked much like today) when the college president would stand up at the end of chapel and say "have a beautiful day"! Upon that statement the entire student body (and most of the faculty) would stand up and cheer! What this meant was that all the afternoon classes were cancelled and the entire student body, faculty and staff would change cloths and head down to boomer park for a day of great fun and a big picnic! It was a wonderful tradition that I wish would still happen. I would love it if the president of Autoform would call a plant meeting and at the end would say "have a beautiful day"! Wouldn't that just be great! But welcome to corporate America! Time is money and money can't buy more time so you have to use what you have wisely!
God has blessed us with some absolutely fantastic weather lately, I was blessed to enjoy much of it over this past weekend and have been thanking Him ever since. In conjunction with yesterday's blog, take some time for God today. Just thank Him for all of the blessings in your life (trust me, you won't even have to think hard to come up with some). If all you thank Him for is the sunshine then that's a start. "Being thankful in all things" means even thanking Him when things are not beautiful! It means to be thankful even when life is tough and you don't know what to do next! "God is good and His mercies endure forever"! He is always there for each of us and loves us unconditionally! Be blessed beyond belief today, and of course have a beautiful day!

Album: All That You Can't Leave Behind

The heart is a bloom, shoots up through stony ground
But there's no room, no space to rent in this town
You're out of luck and the reason that you had to care,
The traffic is stuck and you're not moving anywhere.
You thought you’d found a friend to take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand in return for grace

It's a beautiful day, the sky falls
And you feel like it's a beautiful day
It’s a beautiful day
Don’t let it get away

You’re on the road but you’ve got no destination
You’re in the mud, in the maze of her imagination
You love this town even if that doesn’t ring true
You’ve been all over and it’s been all over you

It's a beautiful day
Don’t let it get away
It's a beautiful day

Touch me, take me to that other place
Teach me love, I know I’m not a hopeless case

See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colours came out
It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
A beautiful day

Touch me, take me to that other place
Reach me, I know I'm not a hopeless case

What you don’t have you don’t need it now
What you don’t know you can feel it somehow
What you don’t have you don’t need it now
You don’t need it now
It was a beautiful day
