Here We Go Again

You know, I was thinking. Last week I opened it up for any and all questions and I got them. I want to have another Wild Wednesday this week but I must lay down a couple of ground rules. The first of which is that the word "WHY" does not in and of itself denote a question for the purposes of Wild Wednesday. Secondly, asking for money is strictly prohibited. Other than that it's wide open! By the way, the sky is clearing and I am pulling out of this funk that I've been in lately, thanks for all of the encouragement. Be blessed today.

You know, I tried to think once and nothing happened. If you dont get this message, just let me know and I will send another one. What time is it? You mean now? Is this phase one of lumpy gravy or are we only in it for the money? (Find the musical reference to that one and you win a prize). And by the way there is a coralarry (sp?) of "Are we only in it for the money or is this phase one of lumpy gravy". How many mispellings did you have in your post the other day? (No not Jiff). I really like the coralarry mispelling, it reminds me of my niece cora and larry the cucumber.

In reference to Quatro's post yesterday, do you think we are hopelessly entrapped in worldly living by going to work everyday? Would we not be better served, rather would God not be better served if we sold all our "stuff" and lived together, making our own food and clothes, supporting each other and helping others?

Larry Boy - Huh?
Russell - Yes!

Bruiser - Just don't be in such a hurry, life is short. Murphey Brown. "Watch how I can get this humans attention and get him to ask a stupid question on a blog". NO and Yes! BBT

Because you ask for wild questions here is the next bible dig question:
Who was Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz? What book; chapter and verse? I don't know if that name is the longest name in the bible. I just know I wouldn't want to have to sign that name each time I wrote a check!

RE. being in a hurry...slow down, get in the long line, allow others to go ahead of you.

Kodiak the answer to your question can be found in Isa. 8:1 and in 8:3. Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz means quick to the plunder, swift to the spoil. BBT NEXT

How can we be blessed today? Is that something we can physically grasp? Or is it something that we are given regardless of whether we need, want or deserve it? Can we bless others? What is a blessing? Do any of us enjoy more blessings than others? Is a homeless man blessed? When something good happens to us and we say we are blessed, does that mean when something bad happens are we cursed? BBT! :)

Russell - By living in the Spirit. Nope. Yes. Yes. The presence of God in your life. The more we are living in the Spirit, the more God's blessings will flow over us. Yes. No, blessings often are hidden in the trials of this world. BBT NEXT

Russell,
God gives us trials in our lives to test our faith. Jmes 1 says:
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

I just think it's kind of weird to look at our lives and say "boy I am so blessed" and not look at, oh say an african baby with AIDS and say, "boy isn't he so blessed, look at the trials he's going through, he is blessed beyond beleif!" It's a weird thing to look at blessings from a different perspective.

Another question. Are all good things actually blessings? Can anything good ever happen without God's direct intervention? If everything is directly effected by God's will, are we truly living in free will?

Russell - Remember that God blesses as HE pleases. I can say that in my human logic I have a hard time wrapping my brain around that as well. As for the second part of your question, you have to define good! If good=the things I like then the answer is no. If good=God then the answer is yes. Good is relative. As far as the next part of that question, there is nothing good except for God. Therefore a life in God is nothing but good by HIS definition. As far as free will is concerned I'll share with you some Bud Mollette logic. He used to say to me "son, I can't make you do anything, I can just make you wish you would have". I had free will under my father, but to go against his will had consequences. I believe the same is true with God. His will is good, everything else is not. BBT NEXT

How come when a team wins, they always thank Jesus, but they don't say, "It's because of Jesus, when they lose?"

At 1:12 PM, Blogger Russell said...

Does God tempt us? James 1:13-15 leads me to believe that he doesn't. Why then does Jesus in teaching us how to pray use the line, "and lead us not into temptation". Matthew 6:13. This seems conflicting. Or maybe he's always got that option but he just choses not to do it because he loves us so much.

Are you growing tired of me yet? Doesn't FAITH cover sooooooooooooooooooo much?

What is a rhetorical question? Is asking, what is a rhetorical question?...a rhetorical question?

At 1:19 PM, Blogger Swinging Sammy said...

I believe God doesn't tempt us (because He is nothing but good) but allows us to be tempted by giving us the opportunity to choose Him or to sin. But, 1 Cor 10:13 says "...and God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." (NIV)

Do you put the peanut butter on first or the Jelly? Is a car new when you buy it used? How many rust holes do you need in a car to say that it is time to get ride of it? Should the questions asked on Wednesday be wild? serious? funny? Will there be a wild Wednesday next week? If so, should I start a list for next week?

What happened to Doug? I thought that he was going to be the one answering the questions. If this is going to be ask a panel, I need to develope more questions. Like how many blogs do you visit a day? What does it mean to be pudged and how does it make you feel?

No mas no mas! You guys win, you have taken down the Pudge! This has indeed been a Wild Wednesday. You folks are nuttier than a fruit cake. I will answer one more here. Yes Sammy I did get Jimmied, and Russelled and Pedroed, and Sammied, and Kodiaked, and now to Pudge myself. What were you thinking doofus? You know very well that the readers of this blog are not normal! What is normal anyway? Nothing in the world of Pudge that's for sure. So before you go and do something this stupid again just think abou the problems that you've created here. Don't give them free rain without rules. Don't let them overtake your own blog. And mostly don't ever give them a TACO! Has anybody seen my red balloon? BBT

well now we've done it, we've broken the pudge, we've caused him to pudge himself. A pudge divided against himself cannot pudge.

Russell,
John 9
2His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

3"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.
