Finding God

You know, I was thinking. There are a lot of people out there who are searching for truth. They know that they are missing something but they don't know what it is. So they spend much of their life trying to fill a void with all kinds of stuff that just doesn't fill them up. Still others know that they need God in their lives but they seem to have trouble. One of the most irritating expressions that I can hear is that "I am searching for God". The second most is "I have found God"! Like God came up missing or something. Don't get me wrong it is great when people choose to let God lead their lives, but they act like God has been eluding them or has been in hiding. God hasn't moved since the beginning. He has always been in the same place just waiting for us to come to him. He has made is presence abundantly clear and the way to him has always been well marked. We as Christians lead people to God and not God to people. A better expression might be "God has found me"! Who are you leading today? Who do you know that is searching or is trying to fill their void with junk? Whatcha gonna do about it? Be blessed today!

Good Question???? Yes, I know a few people who are trying to find GOD. Trying to seek the truth, requiring all the scientific explanations about the existence of God and Jesus. I ususally just tell them it is about faith and belief and look at all the blessings in their life.

I think the reason some can't "find" God is because they are getting in the way. We always do. We, humans, are the worst for getting in the way of God. We can't see/find him because our eyes are focused in the wrong places or closed all together.

Russ, that is exactly why there have got to be people to lead others to where God is at! You are right on track to what the problem is! BBT

People are attempting to find or understand God using human logic. But God transcends human logic. We want to build a tower or building, when what we really need to do is to descend. The only way to find God is via knee service (on our knees in prayer).

I Agree. what is really tough, I think, is people who have this endless task list to complete before getting into the whole "religion thing". Like you aren't good enough to cross the door. sooooo missing the point....

BAM! wowgirl, you have the key to salvation in your hands! I didn't know God until I was able to stop trying to get my life in order before approaching Him. I just said, "hey, I need you, I'm a failure!" and I've never been closer!

You know, WE get it. I think the most important thing to remember is what it took for me to get it! That I believe is the key to leading the lost to Christ. If it worked for me it just might work for someone else. BBT

Before we take them to the cross they must first go to the law. Otherwise the cross means nothing. This link should help. http://www.livingwaters.com/good/

Kodiak, I do respectfully disagree with you. There are many conversion examples in the new testament of people who did not know the first thing about the law in order to come to a relationship with Jesus! I have helped people find the Lord without even a reference to the Law, but I will agree that the Christians walk can only be at it's fullest by a good solid understanding of the Law, and that understanding will also give us a much deeper appreciation for what Jesus HAD to do in order for us to come to God.
