Friday Feast - An Ode To '70's Rock Groups
You know, I was thinking. The best rock and roll music came out of the 1970's. You know that was the decade when most of you X'ers out there were born. Here's my list of favorites:#4 - Journey Foreigner - Best song- Double Vision
#3 - Chicago - Best song - 25 Or 6 To 4
#2 - Styx - Best song - Come Sail Away
#1 - Eagles - Hotel California
What's your favorites? Be blessed beyond belief today.

just not sure what was 70's exactly ( I was born 1970)
nicholas even listens to some of the stuff and likes it funny how the great stuff never gets old.
I just have to share this...although you are all in the wrong decade...We were going to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch today and it was very crowded at the restaurant and I made my usual "somebody dropped a bus load off here" comment. To this my 30 month old grandaughter, Amelia, aka Mellie, nanna boots, max etc said and I quote, "just get off the bus, Gus"...pretty good S&G reference for a two year old, eh??
Oh and by the way she would have preferred Appleby's but it was Abby's turn to pick where we had lunch since Mellie and I had gone to Starbucks this am...
I must be off..
uhhhh....
Didn't Foreigner do "Double Vision"?
One of Journeys' best songs IMHO is "Seperate Ways"
I'm also a big Styx Fan "Man in the Wilderness" "Babe" "Lady" "Don't Let It End".
That older Rock had a very clean sound to it, not all crammed together like most of today's Heavy Metal.
PS, rock and roll was dead by the time the 70's rolled around...
Jimthuselah :)
Whoa - can't tell that I'm roughly of the same "vintage" as you, huh DEP? I think I'm agreeing with your choices except that I think you're mistaken about Double Vision - I do believe that was Foreigner. I could be wrong....But we can't forget the Beatles and you can just pick any one of their big hits. But I guess that's the sixties - oh well! I do miss good music sometimes. I find myself saying things my mother said about the music I like(d) when I hear what is supposed to pass for music today. I hear the comments coming out of my mouth and then wonder who said that?!? I sometimes feel possessed by my mother's spirit. Not entirely bad....HELP! I need somebody! HELP! Not just anybody! HELP! You know I need someone! HELP! When I was younger, so much younger than today...

For all of those xer's out there who missed out, I am truly sorry (russell). But, the Pudgeman must admit to his mistakes and it indeed was Foreigner who recorded Double Vision. Guess that the old memory isn't what it used to be. Never-the-less despite what anyone else says about it, the 70's rocked! Thanks to all for sharing. B4T
60's laid the ground work, 70's built it up... I was born in 75 and I still say the 70's was the best decade of rock n roll.
I am with Sammy, 60's were good but the 70's were great. B4T
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Led Zeppelin - Stariway to Heaven
John Mellencamp - Jack and Diane
Anything by the Styx, Foriegner, Eagles, Boston, Chicago and Bonnie Rait
But I am definately an 80's girl myself.
I like the 70's music but today I perfer 50's music. I love the style, drive-in restruants, classic cars and the like. You know "Happy Days" style, "Aaayyyeee".
